Ramblers' Stables is an opportunity to stay in our ponies' winter paddocks near our home, an ideal overnight stop for walkers on the Essex Way.
There are either two tent pitches available or one tent plus one caravan/motorhome. This is a horse lovers' heaven as our two ponies are in the back paddocks and there is a private livery yard opposite so their horses are generally out too. Clearly we don't allow feeding of any of the horses but we are happy for our clients to accompany us when we are feeding and caring for our ponies. Pitches are large and reasonably level and cars may be parked beside tents weather permitting access. Otherwise the stable yard is a stone's throw away.
There is a wet room with a shower, toilet and basin and also washing up facilities on the stable yard. There is direct access onto the Essex Way for walking and you can follow the footpath to the Woodhouse Farm site to visit the cattle on the farmyard. There are standard 3 pin plugs on the stable yard and the furthest tent pitch requires an extension cable of 50m to connect. Electricity is included. Raised fires and barbeques are permitted but subject to conditions being safe.
You may have noticed we are fairly close to the A12 and we can hear some road noise, some days more than others depending on the weather conditions, but we are sure you will notice the birds more than the road noise like we do.
